Turning Staffing into Marketing Exercise

If your organization is challenged with a lack of qualified candidates, you need strategic planning and a little bit of targeted marketing to find great prospective employees.  You can achieve this by "selling" your company to the person you want to hire.  However, you need to find the best person for the job.

Defining quality management

A 1999 venture capital survey asked over 450 venture capitalists about what they looked for when it comes to choosing companies to invest in.  When asked about their definition of a quality management, 83% of those surveyed included successful experience or proven track record in their response.

Meanwhile, at a meeting between venture capitalists, angel investors, and other people involved in the venture capitalist trade answered queries about what they look for when deciding what companies to invest in.  One of the experts said that his company considered the management team 80% at a time.

Finding your management team

How do you go about and finding your management team?  You can start off by advertising in the local newspapers.  However, you need to prepare yourself for the fact that the best person for the job is not likely to be actively looking for a new job.

You could also hire a third party as your partner in your staff search.  In doing so, you should understand the difference between staffing agencies who have a database of candidates and would "sell" these to you and headhunters who analyze your staffing needs, then conduct a personal search based on those needs, and send only the most qualified few candidates to you for approval.
